FAQ

About CBD Oil

What is CBD?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally-occurring constituent of industrial hemp (cannabis sativa) plants. It is the most abundant non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in cannabis. Unlike THC, CBD (cannabidiol) is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid and does not cause a high.

CBD (Cannabidol) is a naturally occurring compound found in the hemp plant that comes with many benefits. CBD oil is non-intoxicating and has almost no side effects. CBD can promote the healthy regulation of the body’s central nervous, immune, and endocannabinoid systems.

All mammals have an endocannabinoid system (ECS) that is activated by substances in our bodies called endocannabinoids. Phytocannabinoids are substances like CBD that are produced by plants and function at the same receptors in the ECS. At this time there are two well-known receptors, CB1 and CB2. CB1 receptors are found in high numbers in our brain and central nervous system. CB2 receptors are found in high density in our immune systems. Other locations of CB1 and CB2 receptors include skin, liver, bone, and the gastrointestinal tract. The majority of CBD’s mechanism of action is still being studied.

True Natural Oil products are non-intoxicating, meaning that they will not get your pet or yourself high. Legal hemp limits for THC content need to be less than 0.3%. Natural Pet Oil takes care to ensure that just the right amount of trace cannabinoids (CBC, CBN, CBG, THC) are present to make the most effective plant-based formulation.

Every mammal has the potential to tolerate cannabinoids differently, and dosing varies between indications. Our experienced team of professionals is here to help you select the ideal formulation and to guide you in dosing appropriately.

Why would I consider CBD for my Health?
The whole point of taking CBD Oil is to bring homeostasis (balance) back to the mind and body via the endocannabinoid system. Virtually every organism on Earth has an endocannabinoid system moderated by cannabinoids like CBD.

However, this complex network of receptors is commonly starving, and experiencing a “Cannabinoid Deficiency” in today’s environmental conditions.

Studies have shown the Endocannabinoid system ⁣is most abundant in the brain and immune system, and is responsible for important functions such as sleep, relaxation, inflammatory responses, cognitive ability and an endless list of other major functions within the body. So naturally when our system is experiencing this deficiency, these normal bodily functions can become out-of-wack, per se.

What can I expect when I start taking CBD?
CBD works with your endocannabinoid system in an interesting way; the more you consume it, the more receptive your body becomes to it. It might take some people a couple of months of continuous CBD consumption in order to fully experience the benefits of the compound. For others, they may experience effects right away. You may have different experiences with CBD from your peers because each body’s biological makeup & balance within homeostasis is different.

What’s the difference between CBD from hemp and CBD from marijuana?
Both hemp and marijuana are from the same genus and species, but hemp has a low THC content. The CBD in hemp and marijuana is the exact same compound.

Is CBD safe?
Studies show CBD is a natural substance that “is non-toxic in non-transformed cells and does not induce changes on food intake, does not induce catalepsy, does not affect physiological parameters (heart rate, blood pressure and body temperature), does not affect gastrointestinal transit and does not alter psychomotor or psychological functions. Also, chronic use and high doses up to 1,500 mg/day of CBD are reportedly well tolerated in humans.”

How do I consume CBD?
For optimal drug delivery, the buccal (cheek) and sublingual (under the tongue) dosage forms must remain in contact with oral mucosa for a time of 60 to 90 seconds.⁣

Is CBD addictive?
In contrast to pharmaceutical antidepressants, CBD does not have addictive properties. You can start and stop using it at any time without withdrawal side effects. In fact, CBD is even being tested to help treat addiction.

Can I develop a Tolerance to CBD?
No.  This study reports that “prolonged treatment with CBD does not induce tolerance, a phenomenon often observed by cannabinoids”. This means that in contrast to many Pharmaceuticals, you will not develop a tolerance, or a reduction in efficacy as you use Cannabinoids in the treatment of your ailments. The study ends by summarizing, “all of this suggests that CBD may be valuable in the treatment of other chronic inflammatory diseases as well.”

Can I take CBD if I am on Painkillers?
Studies show that “since opioids are the only therapy for severe pain, analgesic ability of cannabinoids may provide a much-needed alternative to opioids. Moreover, cannabinoids act synergistically with opioids and act as opioid sparing agents, allowing lower doses and fewer side effects from chronic opioid therapy.”⁣
